Construction & Demolition Debris

Remodels, demo, concrete and dirt. The two things that matter on a job site are weight limits and keeping heavy loads clean — both are easy once someone explains them.

The rule that governs everything

Clean loads go to a different place

Concrete, brick, block and dirt are recycled as aggregate, which means they go to a different facility from mixed construction waste. A clean load has to stay clean.

A clean heavy load is

  • Concrete, with or without rebar
  • Brick, block and stone
  • Asphalt
  • Soil, sod and gravel — in its own container

One of these contaminates it

  • A bag of site rubbish thrown on top
  • Timber offcuts or pallet wood
  • Drywall or plasterboard
  • Packaging, cups, wrapping

It is worth telling the crew explicitly, because this is nearly always an accident rather than a decision. One binbag on a concrete load re-classifies the whole container.

Sizing on site

Heavy material, smaller box

On a demo job the instinct is to order the biggest container available. For dense material that is the wrong move — you will hit the weight limit with the box half empty, and an overweight container cannot legally be moved.

MaterialContainer
Concrete, brick, asphalt10 yard, dedicated
Soil and sod10 yard, dedicated
Plaster and lath (pre-war)10–15 yard
Mixed remodel debris20 yard
Framing, drywall, insulation20–30 yard
Siding, decking, fencing30 yard — bulky but light
For trades

If you run more than one job at a time

  • Standing swap-outs — tell us the cadence and we will work to it rather than waiting for a call each time
  • Placement before the crew arrives — early delivery so the container is on site at the start of the day, not halfway through it
  • Multiple containers — a clean heavy box alongside a mixed box, which is almost always faster than sorting afterwards
  • One number — the same dispatch, not a national call queue that does not know your site

Mention the company name when you ring and we will keep the site details on file.

Common questions

What people ask when they call

Can you deliver before we start on site?

Usually yes, if the placement is agreed and accessible. Early delivery is the norm for trade work.

What about a container with rebar in the concrete?

Fine. Reinforced concrete is still a clean load.

Do you handle roof tear-off separately?

Yes, and it has its own quirks — see roof tear-off. Shingle weight is the thing that catches roofers out on layered roofs.

Can the container sit on the street outside the job?

Only with a village permit. See permits — and on a commercial job it is normally the contractor of record who pulls it.
